Maurice Kirya has again been nominated in three categories for the Eworld Music Awards to be held on February 12, 2011 in Los-Angeles, the same weekend as the Grammys. The categories he’s nominated in are; Best Male artiste, Best World music artiste and best Indie Group. In an interview with SHOWBIZXKLUSIVS, the lanky world music artiste said: “This means a lot to me...This is how I want to represent my country.” Maurice Kirya is one of Uganda’s few celebrated World music artistes. Others being Suzan Kerunen, Joel Sebujjo and Sarah Ndagiire. Kirya is on the first half of his tour which will see him cover 14 countries in a period of two months. Later in the year, he plans a concert with a guest artiste from the US.
