KENYA'S SUPREME COURT STICKS WITH I.E.B.C ON UHURU'S WIN

Kenya's Supreme Court ruled on Saturday Uhuru Kenyatta was elected president fairly, unanimously rejecting a challenge from defeated candidate Raila Odinga that the vote was marred by rigging and technical problems. The decision cleared the way for Kenya's richest man to take the top job in east Africa's biggest economy, but left foreign powers with the headache of dealing with a leader charged with crimes against humanity at The Hague. Kenya's outgoing president had called for calm ahead of the judgment which came five years after another ballot dispute triggered widespread bloodshed. "It is the decision of the court that the third and fourth respondents were validly elected," Chief Justice Willy Mutunga said in court, referring to Kenyatta and his running mate and deputy president William Ruto. He said the court had done its duty at a historical moment. "It is now for the Kenyan people, their leaders, civil society, the private sector and the media to discharge (their duty), to ensure that the unity, peace, sovereignty and prosperity of the nation is preserved," he added. After a week of hearings, the court had unanimously decided the March 4 vote was conducted in a free, fair and credible manner in line with the constitution, he said.

UGANDA'S CHANDIRU TO GO OPERATION

Uganda’s Beyonce, Jackie Chandiru has a heart problem, her manager Julie Erusa has confirmed. This comes after Jackie Chandiru was admitted in hospital after performing at the Women’s Day Bash that was organised by Talent Africa celebrating Women’s Day. While at hospital, it was realized that she had a heart problem although it was not specified. Jackie Chandiru’s manager, Julie Erusa says that the “Gold Digger” song star has a heart problem and is undergoing tests to determine what exactly is wrong with her at the Heart Institute. Julie added “She can perform and she will still put up that energetic performance. We are not yet sure if she will have to go for a heart operation or she will be ruled out of any sort of danger. That’s after all tests are done and the doctors will give us a final word.” said Julie Erusa. Chandiru is a leading female musician in Uganda who has always put up amazing and energetic performances.

According to a report released last weekend by American lifestyle magazine, Vanity Fair, Nigerian oil Tycoon, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija owns five apartments in London’s One Hyde Park, the world’s most expensive apartment block. Vanity Fair in their report wrote that Mrs Alakija owns five apartments in the 6,000 pounds-per-square-feet apartment block which she bought at a combined fee of $123 million , making her the second highest property owner in the upmarket area after Rinat Akhmetov, Ukraine’s richest man and owner of Ukranian football club, Shaktar Donesk, whose property is valued at $215.9 million. Others who own property at One Hyde Park include some of the richest men in Britain, Russia, Taiwan, sheiks from UAE, Naomi Campbell's boyfriend Vladislav Doronin also owns an apartment there. According to the investigation by tax haven expert, Nicholas Shaxton, who wrote the report for Vanity Fair, just 17 of the 76 sold apartments are primary residences. CHAMELEONE'S WIFE FOUND GUILTY

Uganda's leading act Jose Chameleon's wife Daniella settled her case with the man he was accused to have assaulted. The latter was found guilty by a Ugandan court and fined $100. Isaac Katende aka Kasuku who accused Daniella appeared before the magistrate of Makindye based court over the hot slap that resulted in a torn shirt and a destroyed rosary. Daniella has now been asked to pay  $100 in damages.Kasuku has also been asked to apologise to Daniella

on Radio and the blog where he posted the Seguku house remarks and never to mention anything about Daniella be it positive or negative. Regarding the treatment, Kasuku had to seek services of a masseuse who massaged his slapped cheek to ensure that all was well.This is the second case involving the Mayanja's to be cleared in a span of two months. First, It was the Karamagi case in which Chameleone was accused of torching an intruder in his Seguku house on boxing day, but that is a thing of the past after it turned out that he had no case to answer and now the Daniella slap.Now that this was an out of court settlement, the couple was seen a few days back jet skiing at Spenah Beach in Entebbe celebrating the positive developments.
