UGANDAN SONGBIRD POCKETS $3000 FOR ONE SONG SHOW

SONGBIRD Iryn Namubiru of the 'Birowoozo' fame last week smiled all the way to the bank after she was paid $3000 to perform just one song titled "Happy" at a corporate cocktail at the Sheraton Rwenzori Ball Room.

She was a special guest as Happy Science, a world religion with origins in Japan hosted it's members in the hotel. The religion with 12 million members in 90 countries, will have the founder Ryuho Okawa visit Africa for the first time, where he will deliver a lecture at Namboole Stadium. Jose Chameleone, who composed the song Happy People and Swangz Avenue producer, Benon Mugumbya with welcome to happy science also pocketed undisclosed ‘hefty’ sums of money from the alien religious group.

CHAMELEONE ASSAULTS POPULAR MUSICIAN

Beef and fights seem to have no end in Uganda's showbiz. The latest news that have landed on showbizxklusivs desk indicate that Pearl's lead singer Jose Chameleone beat up dance hall artiste Vamposs yesterday. The reason being Vamposs refused to worship Chameleone, a thing that never went well with the Leon Island point-man ending in a showdown.  The details about the fight have been scanty but the war is likely to continue as Swangz Avenue artistes have promised to revenge against the Leon Island boss. Vamposs brother Maurice Kirya was shocked at what Chameleone did to his brother. 'I was blind but now i see, with blows to his face, he wondered why he was attacked,and the answer was,because he did not worship the Dr. Joseph chameleon! i hope my brother vamposs recovers from the injuries and dis figured face, i love his music, but chameleon has attacked many, and is protected by all of us. We have ...all failed to lead as a good example to the coming generation! said Maurice Kirya. And the war could get uglier if the Swangz avenue keep their word to revenge.  ''You shall fight the whole swangz and friends, beat everyone you find, but trust me Vampino was the last, he's the wakeup call. CHAMELEONE TO PERFORM AT WORLD CUP FINALS

Uganda's singer Jose Chameleone has landed a spot amongst entertainers in this Sunday's World Cup finals in Johanesburg. And Jose Chameleoene will join other World class singers as they perform during the finals in Johanessburg. Already he's in South Africa getting ready for the big gig. An estimated 1 95000 will watch the match live at the stadium and another 2.5 billion will catch the action on TV. Chameleone is amongst the artistes who were featured in the World Cup album and he did a single with Kelly Rowland titled ''Everywhere you go'.

CHAMELEONE SUES GRACE

What everyone thought was a joke is turning out really ugly. Showbizxklusivs has learnt that Pearl's lead singer Jose Chameleone has sued Kawonawo star Grace Nakimera over unauthorized use of his pictures during her album launch. Grace Nakimera who launched her debut album mid last May this year had advertised Jose Chameleone as amongst the opening acts. Chameleone had ordered his lawyers to take further action towards Grace after she put his picture on her album launch posters without his consent. That was way back in April. But just last week news came out revealing that Chameleone's lawyers had filed a case at Mengo Magistrates Court asking for compensation and damages worth Kshs 4M. Our Kampala source told us, "If you thought it was a joke then the Bayuda singer is not one to joke around. He is demanding a vast sum of money and he is dead serious" Showbizxklusives will keep you posted on the proceedings.

REDSAN STILL HIRING WHEELS

Whereas his Ugandan peers like Chameleon ,Ragga Dee, Peter Miles and even Ghetto monster Bobi Wine are rolling in fuel guzzlers,Redsan is still hiring whips. And the dancehall musician Redsan lies at times. According to sources, Redsan hired a Range Rover Sport car he used at the Safaricom Sevens, held early this month. He went to Subru Motors,a Nairobi car hire company where our sources confirmed that he hired the monster wheel. Worse is the dancehall star bargained but the management refused to back down until he paid the full amount which was Kshs. 20000 ($300). So if you saw him in the wheels,know he just hired it.

HAS CHAMELEONE FINALLY SEEN THE LIGHT?

The singer's close association with the men of God has been raising eyebrows. And Jose Chameleone is in studio recording a song, Omusambwa, with gospel artiste Nabbi Omukazi (Maggie Kayima). Sources say that Kayima’s manager and city pastor Augustine Yiga has injected a huge amount of money in the project. Meanwhile Chameleone is slated to perform alongside Pastor Wilson Bugembe in July. Many of Chameleon’s fans are wondering if their star has ‘seen the light’.Last time Chameleon was reported to have seen the light after his accident.
