THIS IS VERY STRANGE....

clipI have lost six wives to AIDS! But how come whenever I test, I am HIV negative? Does it mean I am immune to the virus?”This question stunned a crowd that had gathered in Kalangala town for a voluntary counseling and testing crusade on Tuesday. It was organised by Walter Clinic and Strides for Family Health, a USAID-funded healthcare initiative. When the over 400 people were given an opportunity to ask questions, Vincent Kyambadde volunteered his story. He said he was 52 and that every woman he married had died after suffering a painful illness that failed to respond to any treatment, until he decided to go for an HIV test.
He had since had about 150 tests, all of which proved he was negative.Adjacent to him, sat Immaculate Nabayengo, his wife, in a gomesi and breastfeeding their oneyear- old daughter. Kyambadde, a resident of Bugala village in Kalangala town council, later detailed to.

PUMWANI NURSES STRIKE

Nurses at the Pumwani Maternity Hospital in Nairobi yesterday staged a protest and ejected the hospital's CEO and matron. The nurses said that they had downed their tools because of poor working conditions.
They added that the matron Dr Severina Mbwiria had been transferred to Kangemi health centre but had refused to leave Pumwani.
"She is being protected by the CEO Dr Frida Govedi. They have misappropriated 20 million shillings and Govedi wants her to remain here so that they can cover up the scam," said Benard Inyangala, the chairman of the Kenya Local Government Workers Union.
The nurses strike brought operations at the hospital to a stand still."She takes imprest directly from the source. She has misappropriated funds by purporting that she has has supplied items to the hospital," the nurses said.
They marched into the CEO's office, overturned tables and threw chairs around before ejecting the two out.
They then locked the CEOs office.
The nurses then brought into the office Dr Esther Kiambati who they said had been posted to the hospital as the new matron. Area DO Charles Murimi intervened but was unable to calm the nurses.
"Stay here (in the office) until your appointment letter is cancelled," they told the new matron.
However, the nurses insisted that the operations at the hospital were going on as usual.
"We are the ones who worked last night. Our colleagues are in and no mother nor baby has died. All patients have been well attended to," they said.

IS ETTA LEAVING CAPITAL?

NAIROBI'S Capital FM's "Capital In the morning" co-presenter, Etta Ligale is reportedly on her way out just four months after she joined the station. Showbizxklusivs has learnt that Etta is serving notice and will now concentrate on her job at Avenue Health Care. Etta, who co- hosts the show with Chris Foot, is said to have got a new job role that doubled her work load and she couldn't handle the two jobs. We don't know what her new role will be but it should make her a serious big shot at the company considering she was once the Operations General Manager. Capital FM does not want to lose her as her show is said to be doing well, and is said to be looking for ways to make her time flexible although its proving to be difficult. But they are not giving up and are willing to give her some time off to figure it all out since they do not have anybody to replace her at the moment.....source..Izvipi..
