NATALIE PORTMAN IS KENYAN CHARITY AMBASSADOR

Hollywood actress Natalie Portman is the new ambassador for Free the Children, an organization that works to provide educational opportunities for kids around the world.
The charity enabled the creation of the Kisaruni All-Girls Secondary Boarding School in the Maasai Mara region of Kenya.
Natalie teamed up with Free The Children in 2011, to support the Power of a Girl project, which enabled the creation of the secondary school.
She released a statement about her new position. “As a mother and the organization’s newest ambassador, I am grateful to Free the Children for giving me the opportunity to channel my passion and love of children into meaningful action that furthers the education and leadership of young women for years to come. I hope others join me in supporting this important cause.”

YVONNE CHAKA CHAKA MAKES HISTORY

South African Music legend, and UN ambassador, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, on Wednesday January 25th, became the first Africa woman to receive the world Economic forum's Crystal award.   She received the award at the Forum's annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland for her fight for freedom and justice in her native country and also for her immense work as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, her Roll Back Malaria Partnership and as MDG Envoy for Africa.

NOLLYWOOD STARS NAMED UN AMBASSADORS

Nollywood Heartthrob Ramsey Nouah and the stunningly beautiful Ini Edo are supposedly in Nairobi, right after they were named as UN Goodwill Ambassadors. This is their second trip to Kenya this year, right after the AMAAs Nomination night was held here in February 2011. Nouah's acting career kicked off when he starred in the Nigerian TV soap opera Fortunes. Nouah has since then appeared in numerous films starring as the lead role and is considered one of the most sought after actors in Nigeria and Africa.
Ini Edo has been a fast rising star,  having begun her film career in the year 2000, and has featured in more than 50 movies since that time. Edo is a Theatre Arts graduate of the University of Calabar. They joined the list of persons making change in the world alongside Vikram Shah of Bollywood.
