Local hip hop sensation Camp Mulla will be missing in this year's BET awards. The hip hop group have been denied US visas and will not travel to America to join other A-listers in the gala night. According to our sources at the American embassy in Nairobi, the group submitted their VISA applications late and could not be processed in good time. However, Camp Mulla will be joining Coldplay in fighting hunger crisis in Sahel, West Africa. Currently, more than 18 million people in the Sahel region of West Africa are facing a food crisis. Food supplies are nearly non-existent. Prices of food are rising drastically. Women and children are faced with the harsh reality of hunger. Coldplay have been active supporters of Oxfam for several years, advocating for issues including making trade fair to end injustices against poor farmers. Nigeria's Ice Prince famed for his song Oleku is also going to be part of the project.

UNIVERSAL RECORDS SIGNS KENYA'S CAMP MULLA

East African leading hiphop artists have been signed to an international record label Universal Music Group (UMG). The deal which was penned down last week means that Camp Mulla have entered into the league of music elites in Africa. They have a two year deal that would boost their music to the international stage. Camp Mulla have also been nominated in the BET awards and are the first Kenyan group to hit the BET nomination list. Their deal is not known to be worth how much but insiders say it could be around $500,000. Camp Mulla is a Kenyan hip hop group originating based Nairobi. The group has grown a big fan base over a short period. They have 32,500 fans on Facebook, over 21,800 followers on Twitter and over 150 followers on SoundCloud. They have won the CHAT awards twice in the Teeniez' Group or Collabo and Teeniez' Nu Artist categories in 2012.

CAMP MULLA, WIZKID, LIRA NOMINATED FOR BET AWARDS

Kenya's CAMP MULLA, NAIJA'S Wizkid and Ice Prince have been nominated in the 'Best International Act: Africa’ category at the 2012 BET Awards. Other nominees in the category are: Lira (South Africa), Mokobe (Mali) and Sarkodie (Ghana). Camp Mulla have been rising and rising and have put Kenyan music on the global scene.

CAMP MULLA FOR BBA7?????

Talented hip hop group Camp Mulla, are going places if not platinum. The hip hop group will be performing alongside American Grammy nominee J Cole at the premier of Big Brother Africa 7 on May 6^th. The other artistes expected to grace the occasion are Davido from Nigeria and South African based in Malawi E’Face. The BBA 7 will be aired in 47 African countries, where as the participants must double up to compete. Liberia and Sierra Leone will also be joining the house for the first time, but the sad news is that Ethiopia will not participate in this year’s competition.
