AMERICAN RAPPER RICK ROSS TO HEADLINE A NAIJA CONCERT

Burly American rapper Rick Ross performs in Lagos this Friday 17th August at Eko Convention centre. The concert is dubbed Summer Jam Fest.

UNIVERSAL RECORDS SIGNS KENYA'S CAMP MULLA

East African leading hiphop artists have been signed to an international record label Universal Music Group (UMG). The deal which was penned down last week means that Camp Mulla have entered into the league of music elites in Africa. They have a two year deal that would boost their music to the international stage. Camp Mulla have also been nominated in the BET awards and are the first Kenyan group to hit the BET nomination list. Their deal is not known to be worth how much but insiders say it could be around $500,000. Camp Mulla is a Kenyan hip hop group originating based Nairobi. The group has grown a big fan base over a short period. They have 32,500 fans on Facebook, over 21,800 followers on Twitter and over 150 followers on SoundCloud. They have won the CHAT awards twice in the Teeniez' Group or Collabo and Teeniez' Nu Artist categories in 2012.
Universal Music Group owns a music publisher which became the world's largest following the 2007 acquisition of BMG Music Publishing.Other artists under this label include: Janet Jackson, Teairra Marí, Fefe Dobson, Cash Money Records artists (Lil Wyane, Drake, Minaj), Def Jam Recordings artists (Rick Ross, Rihanna, P square)

RICK ROSS LOVES KENYAN CHICKEN

American rapper Rick Ross hearts Kenya Airways airplane food.  The Hustlin hitmaker who was on tour in South Africa and Gabon and mid-December shoot a video blog of his travels. In the vlog, Rick Ross says: “I just tore the stage down in Johannesburg and just jumped on Kenya Airways and I ain’t going to front, that chicken pasta sh*t they served in first class was real good.”

USHER ,KERI HILSON TO LIGHT NAIROBI

It may not be official yet but Showbizxklusivs has learnt that American stars Usher and Keri Hilson will be performing in Kenya in August. Their demands for a Kenyan performance have been received and the “contracts are being negotiated”.

The duo will be performing in Kenya in August, if the deal goes through. According to our source, “The organizers are keeping the details close to their chests until all the details are confirmed and the deal is in the bag.”

Meanwhile, hip pop site HH Wired reports that Keri will be on tour with Lil Wayne on his I Am Still Music Tour till September.  Lloyd, Rick Ross and Far East Movement will join the duo for the tour that will cover nearly 40 cities. As for Usher, his August tour calendar is as clear as a newborn baby’s skin.
