UGANDA'S NAVIO,SOUTH AFRICA'S LUCKY DUBE WIN AWARDS
NAVIO'S light is shining beyond Africa. The latest we have on the hip hop artiste, who has established himself as a leading local hip hop star for a number of years now, is that he recently won himself a major music award in Malaysia to add to his trophy cabinet. Navio, who has just come back from the Malaysian Capital Kuala Lumpur, recently won Best East African Act at the African Entertainment Awards, a prestigious Asian event to celebrate goals achieved by Africans in the entertainment industry in categories like music, art, sports, film, media, events and other various social recognitions. At the event, where the late Lucky Dube also won himself a Lifetime Achievement Award, Navio performed along with Awilo Longomba from DRC and Nkulee Dube, daughter of Lucky Dube. This was Navio’s second trip to Asia, where, he, last year, had sold-out performances in Malaysia and Thailand. Deck all that with his numerous local and international awards you will know this dude is going places.
