RAPPER 50 CENT TO PERFORM IN KAMPALA?

Unconfirmed reports from the pearl of showbiz say that American rapper 50 Cent will be performing  in Kampala, Uganda, in  September.Details about where and when remain under wraps. If this is true then he will be second star to perm this year after American rapper Sisqo who is slated to perform in August. The rapper will be performing during the country's 50-year anniversary since independence.

According to our mole, a er deliberating over who should fill the final slot, promoters Chinedu Ikoroha and Misairi Kabira opted to hand it to a female artiste and Jackie beat a shortlist of Iryn Namubiru, Juliana Kanyomozi, and Keko on account of her high-energy performances. She has already put pen to paper.

King Oyo Nyimba of Toro and Queen Mother Best Kemigisha return toUganda to prepare for the wedding

The Omukama of Tooro kingdom Oyo Nyimba and the Queen mother Best Kemigisa arrived in the country on Wednesday, dispelling media reports that Kemigisa was arrested in the USA. The King Oyo and his mother landed at Entebbe International Airport aboard a British Airways morning flight. They arrived ahead of the Princess Ruth Komuntale’s wedding set for next month.
They were welcomed amidst fanfare by Tooro kingdom officials and subjects who included an entourage of ministers and elders. The two arrived through the VIP section of the airport and were immediately ushered to the arrival lounge, visibly tired from the long flight from Heathrow. The kingdom’s anthem was sang and thereafter, King Oyo was led outside where he shook hands with waiting school children who sang Kitooro folksongs. Present were the regent, Rev. Richard Baguma, Princess Elizabeth Bagaya, and the palace minister Meshach Kawamara.
The Kingdom’s minister of information Arthur Namara said that wedding preparations were ongoing and Princess Komutale would arrive in due course. Namara however gave no specific date for Komuntale’s arrival. “The King and the Queen mother have arrived in order to prepare ground before the wedding. Preparations are in high gear in the kingdom, and we have a month and some few days remaining,” Namara said. Princess Komuntale, 23, is set to walk down the aisle with her American fiancĂ©, Thomas Christopher in a ceremony that will take place at St. John’s Cathedral in Fort Portal. The wedding will be preceded by a traditional introduction at the home of Charles Kamurasi, the Princess’ paternal uncle and head of the ruling Babiito clan.

NOLLYWOOD STAR UCHE JAMBO OFFICIALLY WEDDED

Top Nollywood actress and producer- Uche Jombo has discarded the toga of a spinster and had a quiet nuptial in faraway Puerto Rico today. The star actress whose relationship has been very private was married to one American man only known as Rodriguez. It has been a fantastic couple of years so far for the Mathematics and Statistics graduate of the University of Calabar, who also has a degree in Computer Programming from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State. Two of the last films she has produced have garnered major appeal and stamped her as a Nollywood Power-house.

TOMMY HILFIGER TO TOUR UGANDA

It has been confirmed that world renowned fashion designer and business magnate, Thomas “Jacob Tommy” Hilfiger, is coming to Uganda, this week. The Irish-American fashion designer is coming at the invitation of UNDP’s Millennium Villages Project to inspect a project he is funding in Insingiro District in western Uganda.
See, like many American celebrities who have benevolently aided disadvantaged Africans, Tommy Hilfiger has generously donated $2m (about Kshs. 160 Million) towards community development interventions in Uganda.
The money has also helped health units with medical supplies and drugs as well as farmers in areas of Ruhiira, Kabuyanda in Isingiro Districts.  Part of the things Hilfiger is expected to see in Isingiro during his visit between March 2 and March 3, is the construction of a three- classroom block.
